THANK YOU BLOGGING FRIENDS

I want to thank all of you for your friendship and friendliness this year.  It has been a tough year for me.  My hubby passed away Thanksgiving 2010.  He had been ill for many years with dementia and other physical problems.  He got to hold his 3 month old grandson for the first & only time that October.  The look and happiness on his face is one memory I'll always remember.  We had been married for 44 years.   Your friendship has been a great help in getting me thru this year.

I'm looking forward to a better year in 2012 with my sons and grands.  They are the light of my life.  I can't wait to start crafting for the new year.  I have lots of new ideas.

My best wishes to all for a very healthy and Happy New Year.

JACK'S PICTURE PILLOW

My granddaughter loved Jack's picture on the pillow.  After hugging it she said "Now I'll always have Jack with me".    It resides on her bed next to her favorite doll.

Christmas was quiet but there's nothing like a 5 yr old at Christmas.  Already have pics of my 18 mo.old GS on Christmas morning.  He looked a little overwhelmed, but quietly went from one item to another.

AUSSIE JACK'S PILLOW

Donna of Brynwood Needleworks did a doll pillow of her Corgi Tag for her granddaughter.  I knew mine would love one of my Aussie, Jack.  I finally got a good pic after about 15 tries..  He kept turning his head away.  This was my first try printing on fabric.  I like the way it turned out.

MUG SWAP AND CHRISTMAS IN THE CABIN SWAP

 I received  this wonderful salt glazed mug, hot chocolate & candy cane stirrer, a beautiful handmade wool mug rug from Kendra of The Stone House Primitives.   Also included in the Christmas box were "to die for" handmade turtles.  Thank you Kendra, I enjoyed getting to know you.  Thank you Debbie of Debbie's DoDads for arranging the swap.

My swap partner was Becky of Ginger Creme Hollow.  She made a terrific Santa, Snowman ornie and Gingerboy pillow.  She also sent candle tarts rusty tin bird houses & star poke and wood Angel letters.  The snowman  pocket with greens was part of our ornament swap.  Becky was very generous with her gifts and I enjoyed getting to know her.  Thank you  Amy of Bumble Bee Lane for doing  both swaps.

PRAIRIE HARVEST SWAP GOODIES ARRIVED

            When I opened the box, the most wonderful scents came out.

         I saw a bag of Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Scented Rosehips with a wooden pumpkin tag.  They smell wonderful.  As I unwrapped more packages, there were more great smelling goodies - pumpkin cheesecake tarts & cinnamon pantry cake (my first one).  Another package revealed a lantern with a tea light and another a Happy Harvest pillow.  At the bottom of the box was the largest & heaviest package.  I lifted up a piece of tissue paper & there was a leg.  Lifting more paper and there she was "Maggie Anne".  I love her.

ANTIQUING FINDS TODAY

I found great goodies at my favorite antique shop today.  I was passing by & decided to stop in.  Lucky me.  I found a red & green quilt, agate strainer, funnel and sm. pitcher.  Also an old broom. washboard,glass jar w/glass lid, cheese grater, cabbage shredder and assorted kitchen implements.  I' excited and can't wait to work on them.

SNOWMEN, DOLLS, PUMPKINS ON DISPLAY AT LIBRARY

Today I set up my goodies at our local library.   The library displays local resident's hobbies, collections, crafts on a monthly basis.  I was asked to sign up almost 2 years ago.  I forgot about it until I received a letter last month.  It's really exciting to have my goodies on display in the library this month.

NEW DOLLS - SHOW THIS WEEKEND

Dolls finished  for show this weekend.  The red dress has crows scattered over it with  band of scarecrows across the skirt.  The mustard dress  is  Honey & Me fabric with pineapples and a plaid homespun apron.

I love this pattern by Polka Dot Pig Primitives.  A prim witch atop a flamingo.  Very FL. - It's a hoot!

 The Pumpkin Swap goodies box was in my mailbox today.  Everything was so nicely wrapped.  I could't wait to open it.

                    Hattie the Witch Doll is neat.  I loved her striped legs.                  

        The pumpkin is so perfect.  The leaves on the sides are so different.  I love the salt dough flowers &crow on the top.                               .

  The tart tray  is one of my favorite colors and I love the scents of the candles.  The candlemat is reversible for Fall and Christmas.   The fabric is pretty.

 There was a box on my front door when I arrived home today.  It was from Amy.  It was so nicely wrapped and I was curious about the shape.

 I love the bee and the ladybug.  They are really cute and prim.

BAD NEWS AND GOOD NEWS ???????

Took my van in for servicing today & got a call 5 hrs, later that my car is unsafe to drive.  Apparently part of the right front frame is so rusted you could put your finger through it.  Wonder why they didn't see it six months ago when it was in for servicing. The van is 10 yrs old and only has 69,000 miles on it.   The "good" news is that I get another newer car.   I guess I know what I will be doing this week.

I wish I could post a picture, but I  had to get a new computer and all my "stuff" hasn't been put  on it yet.
I had a virus  and odd noises coming from the tower.  Thank goodness for my personal IT guru (my son).
He's scanning everything for viruses before anything is put on the new computer.  As soon as all is back to
normal, I'll post a picture of my pillow as well as new stuff I've been working on.

FIRST BIRTHDAY & GYMNASTIC AWARD

 Today is my grandsons first birthday.  Family will be coming on Friday for vacation.  It's been several months since I've seen them and I'm due to do some cuddling.

My granddaughter received her Gymnastic Award tonight.  I'm amazed at how she walks and jumps on the balance beam with such confidence.

GREAT DAY ANTIQUING

I'm sooooooo excited.  I got to my favorite antique store 3 hours after an estate was delivered.  Can't believe what I found.  A doll's bench, good size cutter quilt, red and white chenille bedspread, old sifter, white enamel ladle, small grater, plus other stuff.  Very reasonable prices.  Will have pictures soon.
